About Churches Together in Devon
Working Together for Christian Unity in Devon
Churches Together in Devon (CTD) exists to bring Christians of different traditions into closer fellowship, prayer, and action. We believe that, by working together, we can make a greater impact in our communities and give a stronger witness to the love of Christ.
Our members include churches from many denominations across the county — Anglican, Baptist, Methodist, Roman Catholic, United Reformed, Salvation Army, independent churches, and others — united in a shared commitment to proclaim the Gospel and serve the people of Devon.
CTD supports local Churches Together groups, Local Ecumenical Partnerships, and United Churches, encouraging collaboration in worship, mission, and social action. We also help connect local churches with national and international ecumenical initiatives, such as the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity.
Leadership is provided by our Presidents — senior leaders from the participating denominations who also serve as our trustees. They are supported by the Denominational Ecumenical Officer and Ecumenical Mission Facilitator, who carry out the practical day-to-day work that helps turn vision into reality.
Whether it’s through united worship, joint community projects, or simply building friendships across traditions, Churches Together in Devon seeks to demonstrate that we are one in Christ.
