Churches Tent Mid Devon Show 2018

Once again, the time is rapidly approaching towards the Mid Devon Show.  I am writing to ask local Churches for any support they can offer us in order to allow us to keep the Churches Tent at the show running.

We describe our tent as a peaceful haven, amidst the hustle and bustle of the show.  A place to sit in peace take on refreshment and somewhere to plan the rest of the day.

We welcome Christian Organisations into the tent giving them an opportunity to showcase their Goods/Services.

Committee members come from local Mid Devon Churches of various denominations and meet regularly throughout the year to plan the event.  The tent is totally inter-denominational, offering tea/coffee, sandwiches and homemade cakes to the visitors.  We merely ask for donations to offset some of the considerable costs involved.

Saturday 28th July 2018
Are you able to spare an hour or two on the day of the show???
Could you help with the serving of refreshments??
Could you help with the supply of homemade cake??
Could you, or your Church make a financial donation??
We would be so grateful for your help

This is a wonderful opportunity for Christian  Outreach into the Community.

If anyone reading this can offer us an hour or two helping to serve refreshments or can make a home made cake. Please get in touch with us.  Also perhaps your Church is able to help with a small financial contribution. We feel it is so important to keep this facility running every year.

Buckfast Abbey Millennium Celebrations

Buckfast Abbey is celebrating 1000 years since King Cnut granted a charter conferring  legal status to the monastery. We are holding a series of events to commemorate this. See this link for all events.

Our civic and ecumenical service is on July 11 at 3pm, which is Vespers followed by afternoon tea. All are welcome but you will need to apply for a ticket to Mrs Lesley Clark, Millennium Secretary –
